Asian's view, and Asian's perspective

Asia is being re-emerged having an important status and role in the new international order. Of course, a lot of time and process leave still to grow their influence and to play major roles in the international community.

The advance of Western countries from the Industrial Revolution has a distinct difference in the level of technology and system even if each unique value is acknowledged. And because the period spans hundreds of years, it is not easy to make up for the difference in a short time.

 

Nevertheless, Asia is growing with a strong influence in the international community unlike before. Especially some developed Asia countries can play an important role and provide a good partnership for countries that need cooperative partners for development and survival, such as the Middle East, Eastern Europe, Africa, and South America, excluding Europe and North America.

 

At this current juncture, the most influential countries in Asia are Japan with traditional leading power, Korea emerging as a world leader in economy and culture, and China, which challenges global hegemony with economies of scale.

 

Continuously paying attention and monitoring the economic situations and issues of the three countries is a necessary task to observe the change and development of the world. Although the three countries already exert considerable influence in the world, yet, deep understanding and exact analysis regarding these countries are very poor, and sometimes it is twisted. I think that it is because they called Pundits are mostly agnostic about the distinctive features of each countries’ respective histories and traditions.

 

The new economic and social orders created by the deep-rooted characteristics of long-standing cultures and traditions cannot be fully understood by the perspectives and methods, reading European and American societies. Furthermore, they are misunderstood in many cases.

Actually, if you look at the writings of many Asian experts in the US and Europe, you can find many cases that are far from the substantial truth or exaggerate very partial facts. They are still looking at Asian countries with their own criteria coming from their position and consciousness.

 

Obviously, there are many things in the societies of Korea, Japan, and China that you can never understand unless you know them. They do not only form a united cultural community like Europe but also operated by a social system based on the rationality of a multiracial society like the United States.

 

Now we have to see, understand, and analyze Asia through Asian eyes with an understanding about themselves.

The time when they were only interested in themselves, read by others, should be changed.

That way, the world will be interested in their voices and perspectives, trying to see themselves with their own eyes.
